 AROUND NANGA PARBAT
It is one
of the best trek in the westernmost of the great Himalayan range. Nanga
Parbat (8125m) is the second highest peak in Pakistan and 9th
highest peak in the world. Nanga Parbat means "the naked
mountain" It is also known as the killer mountain, because of the
difficulties of reaching the summit. The first ascent was an almost
miraculous solo ascent without with out oxygen in 1953 by the Germans
Hermann Buhl. Its sheer south face , called the Rupal ace, rises over
5000 m from the valley floor to the summit and offers trackers
breathtaking close -up views. The North or Raikot face plunges over 7000
m from the summit to the Indus River, forming one of the worlds deepest
gorges. We have to trek around this great massif.
